Strategic Finance Intern

D-Orbit is an innovative scaleup active in the aerospace industry, engaged in the design, development and production of satellites and vehicles related to space logistics and in-orbit servicing applications. We are looking for a Strategic Finance intern to join our team to support the growth and evolution of the company, participating in strategic projects and extraordinary finance transactions, crucial for business development.

Role Description:

During the internship in Strategic Finance Associate you will assist with strategic planning and managing extraordinary financial transactions such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital raising (equity and debt), secondary transactions, and other strategic finance activities. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a strong interest in corporate finance and an aptitude for working in a dynamic and fast-growing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Support long-term strategic and financial analysis, contributing to the definition of business plan, financial strategy and business objectives.

• Analyze and monitor market trends, competition and internal performance to support the definition of growth strategies.

• Collaborate in the financial evaluation and modeling of extraordinary transactions (mergers, acquisitions, capital raising, etc.).

• Prepare and update financial reports, presentations and documents for investors, internal and external stakeholders.

• Assist in the due diligence process for M&A transactions by collecting and analyzing financial and operational data.

• Contribute to the management of secondary operations and capital optimization.

• Work closely with internal teams, such as legal, commercial, and operations, to ensure alignment across business functions.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of financial analysis tools, business valuation models.

• Investor mindset and business acumen.

• Good knowledge of Excel (financial modeling) and PowerPoint (presentation preparation).

• Superior quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.

• Ability to learn quickly and outperform in challenging environments.

• Strong intellectual curiosity.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Proactive approach, entrepreneurial mindset, ability to work in a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• High standing and ethical-value profile in line with that of the company.

• Knowledge of the English language (both written and spoken).

Preferences:

• Interest in aerospace or advanced technology.

• Investment experience, including in a personal capacity, in private equtity and venture capital.

• Experience with financial management software (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet).
