Job Description
Odysseus Space is looking for a full-time AIT engineer, who will help Odysseus Space to achieve its goals, under the supervision of a senior engineer. The technician will join our headquarters in Luxembourg. Fluency in English, theoretical and hands-on experience in electronics and mechanics is required for the position.
About us
Odysseus Space opened in Luxembourg in 2019 and is developing its Cyclops laser communication solution to bring lightspeed connectivity from Space to ground. Starting from Low Earth Orbit, the company aims at connecting any point in the Solar System to the Earth. With Odysseus Space entering a new phase of diversification of our laser communication projects for commercial and defence applications, we are searching for motivated professionals to join our young & international team to work on the next-generation commercial products that will shape the space missions of tomorrow.
Responsibilities
Be responsible for the assembly, integration, testing and validation of our free space optical communication terminals (Cyclops-DTE and Cyclops-GT), in interaction with the rest of the team.
Performing tests and writing reports.
Supporting the Design, manufacturing and testing of ground support equipment.
Writing of assembly and testing procedures.
Preparation of documentation for reviews.
The right candidate
Holds a Masters’s degree in a relevant engineering field with 3 years or more of experience.
Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and takes pride in high standard execution of tasks.
Masters laboratory equipment, have experience with laser safety and clean environments.
Has experience with optical or photonics systems (production, testing, R&D).
Has experience in production and associated space organisation.
Is familiar with microsoft office suite and Teams or is able to get acquainted in a fast manner.
Is an outstanding verbal and written communicator in English with great interpersonal skills.
Has experience writing quality technical documentation.
Is a reliable and fun colleague to work with.
Citizenship from a member state of both EU and NATO.
